About
Welcome to the Chaos!
Vocal Chaos, an award-winning acapella vocal band from Chicago, entertains audiences using only one set of instruments: their voices. Started in 1996 as a group of business school students singing for fun, Vocal Chaos has developed into a diverse collection of consultants, actors, directors, entrepreneurs, professors, computer geeks, engineers, claims adjusters and full-time musicians who all share both brotherhood and the love for making exceptional a cappella music.
Vocal Chaos has performed at Soldier Field for the Chicago Fire, entertained thousands at SeptemberFest in Schaumburg, sung the National Anthem for the World Champion Chicago White Sox and has been featured on Chicago public radio’s Eight Forty-Eight as well as on Chicago’s famous TV station WGN. And if you look quickly enough you can also see some of our alumni in the Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn movie The Break Up!
Under the musical direction of singer-songwriter (and former member of the IU group Straight No Chaser) Owen Stevenson, Vocal Chaos has attracted members from Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, New York, Washington D.C., France, China and even Pakistan! All tuned up to the city of Chicago on a mission to pack the house with original arrangements of favorite top songs in pop, rock and alternative music as well as retro on occasion.
Vocal Chaos blends a powerful pinch of pop and a healthy splash of rock into an acapella recipe like you’ve never tasted before. We perform raw music from our hearts that is as diverse and real as our members. We hope it will move you inside like it moves us in every harmony!
